The Beauty of Forgiveness

Posted by: victoriagoldcollection on: January 16, 2010

The more trouble I get into or the perceived injustice I receive, I have learned about  this beauty of forgiveness. It is an eraser on the blackboard of life.  The act of forgiveness has brought us all the ability to go on in our lives.  Just think,  if I hadn’t been forgiven for being a pain in the a** I would indeed live an empty life.

The reverse is also true.  If we don’t forgive those who have hurt our feelings or acted with malice we could not enjoy the beauty of relationships.  Let’s face it, a divorce is lack of erasing the blackboard.  Arguments are the same and no matter what happens, FORGIVENESS gives us all the power to deal with all unpleasantries.  I know I forgive and it is usually erased from my ‘hard drive’.  I sure hope every body forgives! I think either Moses or Jesus said that to forgive is devine or maybe it’s in the Bible. Will someone let me know????

The Beauty of Chanukah

Posted by: victoriagoldcollection on: December 13, 2009

I have to tell you that I always loved the Holiday season, but the most fun is the celebration of Chanukah!  After all, how many children do you know who would NOT love getting 8 presents?  Every night, we light the Chanukah candles to celebrate the time when there was only enough oil in the candle for one night… and the oil lasted for eight nights!!! Ofcourse, the celebration is the victory of the people, but the true reason for the holiday has been lost through the years. Today children gather round the Menorah to light a candle for each day as they get all excited about opening their presents.  One present is opened each night as the beautiful Menorah shines with the glow of the candles.

This holiday has become more important in these days because of the present giving in the Christian world…can you believe we have to bribe our children? We are only human after all! (and who doesn’t like presents?)

Which brings me to the true purpose of the “holidays”.  I personally think it is a time for family, for loving, for giving to those less fortunate and for being thankful for all we have.  I know I am.  Each year the time spent with loved ones is immeasurable.  Looking back at earlier holiday pictures is the perfect joy!

So, please take the time to let all  know how much they mean to you and how grateful you are to have them in your life.  I know I will…will you?  Please leave a comment on your remembrances of happy times!!!

The Beauty of Skateboarding

Posted by: victoriagoldcollection on: November 11, 2009

AriHurricane1Skateboarding can be a sport, or an art, or a method of transportation. Some say skateboarding began in the 1950s. It’s roots originate from surfing and the early boards looks much different than today…they looked more like surfboards. The popularity of surfing has grown from the United States even to European villages.

I read a lot about learning tricks on your skateboard. I watch the kids doing their thing at the skate park.It is considered an acceptable recreational activity…although many parents don’t agree.Skateboarding is one of the fastest growing sports due to the exercise and the fact that many children are fighting the bulge! Skateboarding is one of the most physically challenging sports.

Transworld Skateboarding magazine states that in a 1998 retail survey the following items took market share of:  Shoes 26.5%, Decks 26%, Apparel 16%, Trucks 11.5%, Wheels 11%, and Accessories 9%!! And that was more than 10 years ago.Today a pro can earn $1,000-$10,000 Per Month!

Ari Gold of San Diego, California owns a grip tape company named ParadoxGrip.com. He also runs a nonprofit charity called The Doogood Conservatory. The Conservatory provides free skateboards for underprivileged children throughout the world. Both of these organizations stem from Ari’s enthusiasm with skateboarding as a young person. He continues to include skateboarding in his life on a daily basis.

Reading  a lot about learning tricks on skateboards and watching kids doing their thing at the skate parks..one thing you could come away with is the fact that skateboarding is not an easy sport. Balance is so important as well as guts…you cannot be afraid of falling. If you are afraid, you WILL fall!  As a mother, it upsets me to watch my son at his favorite sport because I just know there is going to be a trip to the hospital!!!

The internet offers lots of books about this sport, but one article I just read says the truth. You really need a friend to help you learn the tricks because reading and doing are totally different!

The Beauty of Technology!

Posted by: victoriagoldcollection on: November 3, 2009

tanauntvittieDuring my lifetime the most extraordinary inventions have come to pass.  Okay, I admit I am 66 years old, so you and I both know that technology has gone far beyond our expectations.  Forget our landing on the moon and going to Mars. We know our feats of exploration are awesome. I’m talking about how technology has made our lives so different than in the past.

Shall we start with mundane things like washing machines that ‘think’ or the portability of our home ‘land lines’? Or should we consider the televisions of today and their color, size, thinness? Even our remote control is new technology AND we can even remotely program our televisions to record whatever show we cannot live without!!! How unbelievable is that? It is way beyond my father’s expectations…he watched tv in color, but had to get up to change the channel!

When I was in college, I remember that every time I went back to my dorm room I checked this ‘thing’ on the wall to see if I got a call! If the ‘thing’ wasn’t out, no call.  If it WAS out, I had to call the front desk to get my message. At home there was no answering machine…not invented yet.  Believe you me, I was always looking for that ‘thing’ to be out and always worried I had missed an important call.  Are you ready for more changes in the short span of my life?

Our technological growth is beyond the younger generation’s grasp.  Today, computers and telephones have given us a new way of life. Let’s face it, we really carry around both in our pockets or purses.  We can take a call or send a message in a nanosecond. We can go online and check our bank balances from our hand held telephone.  Actually, we are a generation of technology.  These little devices can no longer be ‘lived without’!  Most of us have given up our ‘land lines’ as they are only necessary for finding us. (telephone books) Now, you can listen to music, read a book, watch television, play games, etc.  Anything you want you can do on your cell phone…and I grew up with a telephone connected to the wall and it dialed!!!

Today there is email. I haven’t gotten a snail mail letter in over a year. Big change from the days my Mother made me write ‘thank you’ notes for EVERY thing!!!

Okay, I’ve made my point. Life is different than when I was a child. I know life will be different when my grandchildren grow up, too.  Who can imagine exactly what they will see and do?  I know it will be an even greater technological world beyond my imagination.

The Beauty of the Internet

As a beginner wandering through the net like a lost puppy looking for his home, I find the trip totally mind boggling! There are so many things to learn and so much to also enjoy that  it is awesome in its’ depth. The learning about the internet lessons are not so easy.

I consider myself pretty intelligent and can usually learn new things with ease. However…this internet stuff is so far above my head I have trouble grasping the intricate details of links and posts and spider bots and meta words!  My goodness, it’s  a whole new language to boot…or is that reboot!  Heck, did you know Amazon would pay you to advertise for them as an affiliate? What’s an affiliate??? So many new words to learn and understand.  As I have said before I love to learn, so, here I am trying to understand the workings of the ins and outs of this little machine and the hundreds of thousands of millions of people using their little machine too! One thing is for sure. I will not give up or give in.  This little project is going to succeed if it kills me! If anyone reading this knows what I’m talking about…my hat is off to you!  AND, could you come help me?

The Beauty of Learning

Each and every time I learn something new, I find myself excited and rewarded by the Beauty of the Mind and the Mind’s ability to grasp new information and remember to remember it.   How totally AWESOME!! I will give you a synopsis of the different new things I have learned…

I learned to teach school.  I learned how to run a retail store. I learned how to buy and sell real estate. I learned how to open a real estate office. I learned how to pass a VERY hard test and I learned how to buy and sell stocks and bonds. I learned how to own a securities firm. I learned how to sell Life Insurance. I learned how to sell Health Insurance. I learned how to sell Annuities. I learned how to sell Home Safety products. I learned how to manage an Upscale Children’s Dept. I learned how to be a NANNY. This doesn’t include personal learnings throughout my life!

My little brain had to pass many tests and remember many facts in order to function properly for each  new ‘lesson’. How wonderful to learn so much about so many things. However, learning is a lifetime process.  Stopping the learning would stop my life.  I LOVE learning.

My newest educational pursuit is this blog. I am learning how to use my computer as a tool for making a living.  God has blessed me with the ability to stay home.  I am 66 years young and have at least 20 years for more learning! How cool is that?

Tell me what you are learning these days…I would love to hear about it.

The Beauty of the Residensea

Posted by: victoriagoldcollection on: October 3, 2009

The beauty of the Residensea is that it has all the trimmings of  an amazing lifestyle. Can you imagine waking up in a different seaport almost every day…or at least every week or even twice a month?

The beauty of this ship called ‘THE WORLD’ is that your home is always with you! You can’t forget to bring a thing…your home is your ticket to the entire world as we know it.

All my life people have told me to set goals so you can achieve them. Duh! I didn’t pay close enough attention and I find that God has given me everything.  My goals for my life changed rapidly. Every few years I changed my goals due to adhd…which is the new ‘popular’ diagnosis for what I have had for 66 years. So, at this stage of my life, my goal is very high and I know God will see that I reach it…

The reason the Residensea has become my life’s goal has to be obvious to all. Just being able to travel the world, meet interesting people, see the sites of great inspiration, go to the places I have only read about…WOW! Being able to leisurely enjoy the sea with all the beauty of God’s creations is spectacularly  unbelievable…AND from my own balcony…who could ask for more!? But, there IS more…The beauty of having a home on the Residensea is seeing my grandchildren having fun in Italy and Hawaii and Costa Rica or Brazil….They are all ports of call on

You will enjoy the video below…it’s all about THE WORLD, the Residensea!

The Beauty of Yom Kippur

Posted by: victoriagoldcollection on: September 30, 2009

Yom Kippur is the Jewish Day of Atonement. This is a day set aside every year given by God for all Jews to atone for the sins they have knowingly and unknowingly committed. We go directly to ‘the Man’ and ask for His forgiveness…unlike many religions who go to their preacher or priest to confess their sins.  For 3500 years, this has been the tradition and has served to unite the Jews during the High Holy Days.

The true beauty is that all of us sin and we are forgiven.  Sometimes we don’t even know we have sinned and sometimes we sin in our thoughts only…no action taken, just thinking about it can be sinful. As a Jew, I love Yom Kippur because I can truly tell God how sorry I am for knowingly or unknowingly sinning against another. It feels good to wash away the ills of the past and be able to see the future with an open heart and the belief that perhaps this year I will not be sinful.

As I look to the new year, 5770, I pray I will find BEAUTY in everyone I know and everyone I meet. That is the very least I can do for the God who forgives me and loves me. Let us all try to think kindly toward our brethren and do kindness for those less fortunate than we are.  May all who read my Blog find peace in the knowledge of forgiveness.

Isn’t that silly? Thinking we won’t sin again? We are human, after all, and will always have something to atone. Think about it…who have you talked about with venom in your heart? Who have you not spoken to for no reason at all, yet have hurt the other person with your silence? We all have sinned and we all should tell whoever we believe to be listening that we are  sorry and will do better in the coming year.

Michael’s Beauty

Michael’s Beauty

100_0625Michael is what one would describe as  the perfect son. He was adorable, he was handsome, he was so very smart…well-behaved yet a boy who loved to play and get dirty doing it. As proud of him as I was then, I am even more proud of his beauty today.

Michael worked his way through college and was rewarded with a degree in Business. It was a very proud moment because I knew how hard he had worked to get that degree. Malio’s on Dale Mabry was the vehicle he used to pay for college and he thought with that degree in hand he would conquer the world. That was not to be and 5 years after graduating from college, Michael decided to study Law. He felt he needed a graduate degree to further his life’s goals.  With the help of his Uncle Bob and Aunt Susan, Michael went to Law School. Needless to say, Michael graduated LAW school with Honors and again, he made me so very proud.  Mostly because he got that under-graduate degree with guts and lots of hard work, which brought to him  the foundation for the Law degree.  WOW! BEAUTIFUL!!…..not done yet…

His Uncle Bob thought he needed a LLM, which is basically a Masters degree in Law. So, he again graduated with Honors and made us all so proud. He got married, had 3 children and bot his mother a condo to thank her for giving  him a good life. It was one of the most beautiful things he has ever done. But wait….the MOST beautiful thing he has done is have Lauren, Sydney, and Charlie for me to love!!

The Beauty of Ari

Posted by: victoriagoldcollection on: August 27, 2009

Michael, Ari, and Steve

Michael, Ari, and Steve

I have thought about what would be the first beautiful thing I would share with everyone…

I know everyone of us has children and our children are the smartest, handsomest, nicest children in the world…beautiful children.  We all love the beauty that we created.  Although I created the child called Ari,  Ari has created the beauty that is his.

Let me explain.  Early in Ari’s life he had some challenges and one of the ways he dealt with these challenges was to love skateboarding with a passion. He could be mobile and would go anywhere just to skateboard.  When he went to college so did his skateboard…everywhere Ari was (and is) he took the skateboard.

Now, Ari is a man and the beauty within the man surfaces. About 8 or 9 years ago Ari decided he wanted to help children who may not have the ability to learn or buy a skateboard. As a child, skateboarding became Ari’s outlet for energy and mobility. Ari felt he could help others and has been doing so for years with his non-profit vehicle ,The Doogood Conservatory, aka www.doogood.org.  This has been his life…providing the boards so that children would chose exercise above drugs and gangs. He has made this is his life and devoted himself to its success.

The best part of this story is PARADOX GRIP.COM, which is a company he set up so that all the profits (BEFORE expenses) would go to The Doogood Conservatory. The beauty of Paradox Grip is that it is performance technology and is scientifically designed to improve balance, increase energy, concentration and performance! Just exactly what a skateboarder needs on his/her board!!! A win-win for beautiful insight, beautiful caring and a beautiful marriage of giving and being rewarded for doing good. Is this beautiful or what?

I am Ari’s mother and  I find absolute beauty in the knowledge that his  devotion has led him to this place of joy.  Google Ari Evan Gold to see who he has become. Thank you Ari.

Be blessed.
